Thousands from Illinois' civilian military workforce will likely be back on the job today despite the government shutdown. A spokesperson with the Illinois National Guard says that more than a thousand civilian technicians will be working today as will most of the 25-hundred previously-furloughed workers from Lake County's Naval Station. The announcements come in the wake of the Pentagon's decision to recall all civilian workers whose job responsibilities aid the so-called "readiness of service members."
