Lack of rain hurting parts of Illinois

Illinois is experiencing a moderate to severe drought. State Climatologist Jim Angel says rain has been in short supply over the past couple months, especially in southern Illinois. He says most of the state is running between 25- and 75-percent below average for rainfall. Some areas will get rain this weekend but it won’t likely be enough to make a dent in the drought.
