Rochelle Community Hospital along with several area police and fire departments will present a car accident reenactment this morning at 9 for Rochelle Township High School students.
The assembly is prior to Homeconing week as it begins with a 9-1-1 call involving a car accident as a result of drinking and texting.
RCH emergency room nurses and technicians will play the part of accident victims. The scene will also involve Rochelle Police and Fire Department personnel along with a helicopter and coroner notification.
Guest speakers include a Rochelle police officer along with Brenda Toot, a mother of a teenage victim.
Illinois State Police will also demonstrate the effects of driving without a seat belt.
RTHS students can talk with emergency personnel at the scene. Counselors will also be available for the teens.
