Lawmakers will miss their third paycheck in a row come October 1st. A Cook County judge was supposed to make a decision on whether to reinstate the salaries this week, but the date has been pushed back to October 3rd. Lawmakers filed suit after Governor Quinn slashed their salaries from the budget. They say Quinn overstepped his boundaries but Quinn says he has every legal right to cut money from the budget. And in this case, he says lawmakers shouldn’t be paid until they get a pension-reform deal on the table.
