Mayors and Village Presidents in Ogle County met in Oregon last night as the discussion centered around economic development in the future.
The topics included roads, railroads, along with fiber optics dealing with new businesses and residential homes in the area..
The guest speakers included Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson, John Duncan from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and Theresa Wittenauer, Executive Director and Economic Development Director of Blackhawk Hills Regional Council.
The liaison member for community economic development involving the Ogle County board is Greg Sparrow of Rochelle. He stressed the importance of the cities and villages working together.
A community profile was also talked about last night along with having trained workers when jobs become open at different companies.
