A Chana man was back in Ogle County court Friday for an arraignment in connection with a sexual abuse case.
59-year old Richard Erd has been arrested on 2 counts of the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Ogle County Sheriff's police received word of the alleged incident on July 21st by a medical provider. Erd allegedly had contact with a juvenile on July 20th. He knew the victim who was a family member.
Erd returns to court on August 21st for a preliminary hearing. At that time, he is scheduled to plead guilty or innocent to the charges.
Erd is out of jail following the posting of 10% of a $100,000 bond.
