A group of ten lawmakers will have a meeting of the minds today, to hash out a new pension bill. State Senator Linda Holmes will be among the group and she says pension reform is an urgent, but sensitive issue. That’s because it’s dealing with the retirement plans for tens of thousands of state workers who were promised benefits, but are now facing a possible cut. The meeting is designed to help lawmakers come up with a pension fix after Democratic leaders failed to do so. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will be in room C-600 at the Bilandic Building at 11:00a.m. in Chicago.
