No criminal charges will be field against a former Dixon engineer who used a city credit card for personnal expenses.
Shawn Ortgiesen resigned last April after he placed $13,521 in personal expenses on a city issued credit card from April of 2007 to last March. He has paid back the money with interest.
Lee County State's Attorney Anna Sacco-Miller said that no charges with be filed since the Mayor and City Commissioners in Dixon had signed off on the purchases made by Ortgiesen.
She said in a published report that this is a poor practise to have.
Former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell is currently serving a prison sentence of nearly 20 years after stealing more than 53 million dollars from the City of Dixon during a 20 year period.
