Esmond man hurt in alcohol related accident

An Esmond man suffered injuries yesterday morning after he crashed his pick-up truck into the Kishwaukee River in DeKalb County.

The alcohol related accident took place on Old State Road at Route 64 a short time before 1am.

Reports indicate that 43-year old Brent Creason of Esmond was traveling on Old State Road near the intersection of Route 64. The truck left the pavement and came to rest in the south branch of the Kishwaukee River.

Creason was taken by ambulance to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb with non-life threatening injuries.

He was later arrested on the charge of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, along with texting while driving. Other charges include failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and having no insurance.

Creason will appear in DeKalb County court on the charges at a later date.
