The University of Illinois has set a new record for applicants again this year. The university says it received 33-thousand-178 applications this year, nearly two-thousand more than last year's record number. The school says 20-thousand-875 of those who applied were offered admission, with just over 15-hundred potential students placed on a wait list. School officials say they are aiming for a freshman class of about seven-thousand students.
