A Dixon teen suffered injuries yesterday evening after the car he was driving struck a tree in rural Oregon.
The accident took place a short time after 5:15 on Route 2 near South County Farm Road.
Reports indicate 19-year old Samuel Swafford of Dixon fell asleep while driving his car south bound on Route 2. The vehicle crossed the center line and then struck a guardrail. The car continued in the ditch before striking a tree.
Swafford was transported by Oregon Fire Department ambulance to KSB hospital in Dixon for treatment of his injuries. He was also ticketed by Illinois State Police for improper lane usage.
