Bond set for 3 Rockford men following murder convictions

A Winnebago County judge set bond yesterday for 3 Rockford men who have already been convicted in the killing of an 8-year old boy. Judge Joseph McGraw ordered new trials for TyJuan Anderson, Lumont Johnson, and Anthony Ross because evidence was withheld from their original trials.

The 3 have served 10 years of the 50-year sentences for the killing of DeMarcus Hanson. The child was asleep when struck in the head by a gangster's bullet intended for his Uncle, Alex Dowthard.

Anderson, Johnson, and Ross said that they were framed and convicted of lies from a rival gang member.

Judge McGraw set bond at $150,000 for Anderson and $100,000 for Ross and Johnson. They need 10 percent of their bond to get out of jail or 10,000 or 15,000 dollars.
