Area school districts along with those around the country have reviewed their security procedures during the past couple of months since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December.
20-year old Adam Lanza opened fire that killed 26 people which included 20 1st grade children in Newtown, Connecticut. He then took his own life.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Oregon School Superintendent Tom Mahoney said that the district has talked about security measures for the past 3 years.
Mahoney said that they continue to have drills for their staff and students along with new cameras, man traps, card readers for doors, and the buzz-in door system at buildings.
