Exelon officials have announced that Unit 2 at the Byron Nuclear facility returned to full power this past weekend.
Repairs were made on a motor associated with the main generator cooling pump.
The unit was shutdown by operators last Wednesday following a malfunction in the cooling pump motor. The generator and motor are located on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
Unit 1 at the Byron complex was working at full power when the repairs were made.
When both units are at full power at the Ogle County nuclear power plant, it produces enough electricity for about 2.3 million homes.
