Teachers in the Dixon school district ratified a new 4-year contract yesterday.
The new agreement involves pay increases along with higher payments for health insurance. The contract will also continue to have retirement benefits.
A tentative agreement was reached on March 13th between bargaining teams. The 168 teachers walked off their jobs on February 28th.
The strike lasted 13 days overall. Classes were canceled for a total of 9 days.
The school board in Dixon will vote on the new 4-year contract this evening.
