Ogle County officials are looking to purchase 2 properties north of the Judicial Center in Oregon along with selling 4 acres of land in Rochelle.
In a 17-4 vote last night, the board approved the purchase of property at 501 West Washngton street. A food business is currently at that location in which their lease expires July 1st.
The county also plans to appraise the property at 102 South 5th street at a cost not to exceed $1,500. The vote was 16-5 for this proposal.
Board Chairman Kim Gouker of Byron said that the land will be purchased for future growth for the Judicial Center. In the near future, the property will be used for additional parking in Oregon.
The county also plans to work with Lee and Associates real estate in the selling of 4 acres of land in the Rochelle Business and Technology Park. The asking price will be $280,000.
The county bought the land back in 2010 for $261,000. They had plans to build a new telecommunication center in Rochelle.
