Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies and Rochelle Police Officers executed a search warrant Wednesday which resulted in the arrest Thursday of a Rochelle man on drug charges. Police report that 20 year old Vidal Mancilla of Rochelle was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (cocaine) a class X felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) a class 1 felony, and a warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections for a parole violation as Mancilla was on parole at the time of the search warrant. Additional charges are pending.
The search warrant was conducted at 1043 Ave. E in Rochelle. It was the result of a month long investigation into drug dealing at that address. Officers located approx. 55 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and drug packaging material in the search of the residence.
The Ogle County Emergency Response Team, Rochelle K-9 Unit, and Rochelle Fire Department also assisted on the search warrant. Mancilla is being held in the Ogle County Jail on a $500,000 bond and will appear in court at a later date.
Mancilla has a previous felony conviction in 2011 for Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine).
