Creston board meeting

Village officials in Creston hope the water meter project involving homes in the community is completed by this fall.

The board heard an update report last night on the project as Anderson Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling started up again this week involving the installation of the water meters in homes. 50 residences have been completed with another 150 to go. Board President Tom Byron believes that the work can be completed by September or October of this year.

Village officials heard a presentation from the Leaf River Telephone Company who wants to place a communication antenna on the Creston water tower. The company has other antennas on water towers in area communities.

No final decision was made last night. It's unknown at this time if there would be a rental fee for the company.

The board has also decided to donate money from the tipping fees involving the landfill to 6 village organizations. Each will receive $3,000.
