Netsch passed away yesterday at the age of 86

A pillar of Illinois politics has passed away. Dawn Clark Netsch died Tuesday morning after being recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. The 86-six-year-old Netsch was a well-respected politician who helped rewrite the Illinois Constitution in 1970. She also served as a state senator and as comptroller. Netsch ran an unsuccessful bid for governor in 1994, losing out to Republican Jim Edgar.
