It's day 7 of the teacher's strike in the Dixon school district as negotiations between bargaining teams will continue later today.
The union was scheduled to talk about a new proposal Monday night dealing with health insurance and retirement benefits. Money and benefits remain key issues in the new contract along with class size.
The 168 teachers in the union walked off their jobs last Thursday at the 5 public schools in Dixon. The union has been working without a contract since last August.
This is the 1st teacher's strike in the Dixon school district since 1983.
