For the 2nd time in 9 days, area residents are digging themselves out of a winter snow storm.
Between 6 to 9 inches of snow hit Northern Illinois yesterday which closed down schools along with city and county buildings.
All schools in the area are open today for classes.
Snow plows have been out since yesterday morning. The major highways are clear with some slick spots from snow and ice.
The secondary and rural roads may be snow packed due to the drifting of snow last night with the high winds.
The snow ordinance is in effect for many cities in the area. Residents in Rochelle should park their vehicle on the even numbered side of the street today so that snow plows can clear the pavement.
