Rochelle man receives more prison time

A Rochelle man received a sentence Monday to 6 years in prison after he plead guilty to the felony offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.

29-year old Charles Chamness was arrested in February of 2011 during a traffic stop. Police seized 32.5 grams of cocaine during the arrest.

The car Chamness was driving was originally stopped for having no rear registration light.

Last June, Chamness received a 30-year prison sentence following a shooting which took place in May of 2011 in Rochelle. No one suffered any injuries.

The 6 year sentence was added on to the 30-year time in the Department of Corrections. Ogle County officials say that Chamness will not be released from prison until the early 2040's.
