It's day 5 of the teacher's strike in the Dixon school district as an agreement has yet to be reached on a new contract.
Negotiating teams met for about 10 hours behind closed doors yesterday. Money and benefits remain the key issues in the new contract.
The 168 teachers in the union walked off their jobs last Thursday at the 5 public schools in Dixon. The union has been working without a contract since late August.
The teachers would like to see a pay increase of just over 3 percent along with new text books and smaller class sizes.
