Changes are expected in the near future for the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference.
RTHS officials heard an update report last night on the issue. Both Dixon High School and Streator High School will be leaving the league after the 2013-14 school year. Dixon will move the the Big Northern Conference and Streator to the Interstate 8 Conference. The Streator board approved the proposal last night.
RTHS Athletic Director Kevin Crandall said that the Hubs would probably move to the West Division of the conference once Dixon and Streator leave the league. No final decisions have been made by schools officials in the conference on this proposal. There is no future schools looking the join the conference at this time. Each division will have 5 schools.
RTHS Superintendent Jamie Craven said that a steering committee has been established dealing with the Kish Career Link program. The board also heard an update report on the school improvement plan.
School officials met in executive session to talk about land acquisition and the review of personnel. No action was taken.
