Gas prices continue to rise in Rochelle

Residents in Rochelle were hit hard again at the gas pump Friday as prices rose by as much as 12 cents a gallon for unleaded fuel.

Businesses on the north and east sides of the Hub City have a figure of $3.79 a gallon for unleaded gas. That's a jump of 12 cents.

Businesses on the south side of Rochelle this morning were still selling gasoline at $3.65 a gallon which is 14 cents cheaper.

Residents in Rochelle have seen gas prices rise by as much as 50 cents a gallon during the past several weeks. Numerous communities in the area are selling fuel at a cheaper price. The figure at the pump varies between 10 to 20 cents less than in the Hub City.

Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson has contacted the Governor's office along with the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois Commerce Commission about this problem. He has received no response yet on if any state agency will investigation the price problems in Rochelle dealing with gasoline.
