Gas prices continue to be on the rise for residents in Rochelle as the pump figure for unleaded fuel has increased by 40 cents a gallon during the past 12 days.
The figure rose to $3.69 a gallon for businesses on the north and east sides of the Hub City on Friday. That's an increase of 13 cents a gallon in just 1 day at the pump.
Prices are lower this morning on the south side of town. 1 business was selling unleaded gas for $3.59 a gallon while 2 other businesses were at $3.63.
Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson did contact the Illinois Attorney General's office again this week when the first price hike took place. He continues to receive reports of gas being sold between 10 to 20 cents cheaper a gallon at businesses in the area of Rochelle.
In Amboy last night, the price for unleaded gas was $3.49 a gallon or 20 cents cheaper than some businesses in Rochelle.
