DeKalb County sheriff's police have arrested an Elgin man on 7 counts of identity theft after he allegedly used his customer's information to take out phony car loans at his dealership.
Terry Morrow Jr. remains in jail for the felony offense.
The arrest came about after police received word of several cars missing from Silver Motors in Cortland. When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a U-Haul truck in place of several vehicles.
Morrow was arrested a short time later.
He is being investigated on a total of 25 identity theft incidents. The other 18 involve victims in Missouri.
The identity theft case remains under investigation by DeKalb County Sheriff's police.
