Former Illinois Governor George Ryan is being released from federal prison and transferred to a Chicago halfway house today. The 78-year-old has been at the federal prison camp in Terre Haute, Indiana since November 2007 when he was sentenced to six-and-a-half-years for a corruption conviction. Officials say Ryan will likely remain at the halfway house until his sentence runs out in July.
