ComEd must reimburse customers for their losses after long power outages. That's the ruling of an administrative law judge in a case brought after the intense summer storms of 2011 that led to numerous long-term outages. The judge ruled in favor of 34-thousand-559 customers whose power was out for periods ranging from four hours to many days. The ruling now goes to the Illinois Commerce Commission for a final decision, after which ComEd could take the case to court.
