Ogle County sheriff's police have arrested a Loves Park man following 2 residential burglaries which took place last month.
32-year old Sheldon Wheaton has been charged with 2 counts of the felony offense.
Sheriff's police 1st received information about a break-in at a home in rural Leaf River on December 6th. The 2nd incident took place December 16th at a residence in rural Lindenwood.
In both cases, area residents saw a suspicious vehicle and a partial license plate number.
Several items taken in both burglaries were found at a home in Rockford. A stolen TV from DeKalb County was also recovered.,
Authorities say that Wheaton would travel door to door in rural areas selling frozen meat and looking for unoccupied homes.
Bond has been set at $50,000 as Wheaton remains in the Ogle County jail. He returns to court for a preliminary hearing on February 13th in Oregon. At that time, Wheaton will plead guilty or innocent to the felony offense.
