Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson is on a mission dealing with 2 issues that have an impact on local residents.
The price of gasoline along with the removal of 3 Chicago TV stations from the Comcast cable programming.
Gas prices have continue to be higher in Rochelle by 10 to 20 cents a gallon recently than other area communities. The price at the pump today is $3.27.
Mayor Olson has contacted the Illinois Attorney General's office along with the Chief of Staff in the Governor's office and the Illinois Commerce Commision about the problem. He is still waiting for a response from Springfield.
The cable issue began in September of 2011 when local residents could not watch Chicago TV stations 2, 5, and 7, the CBS, NBC, and ABC affiliates.
Comcast is currently in their final year of a 5-year contract with the city with negotiations starting in the near future. Olson said that this programming issue will be discussed during negotiations.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and re-broadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday mornings at 6 on "The Coyote", 102.3FM.
Next week's guest will be the new State's Attorney in Ogle County, Mike Rock.
