In a unanimous vote last night, the Ogle County board appointed Mike Rock as their new State's Attorney. Rock, who was appointed to the position on an interim basis last week, replaces Ben Roe who is now a Circuit Judge.

Rock also plans to be in the courtroom during certain felony cases.
He will be State's Attorney for the next 2 years. There will be a special election for the final 2 years of the term in November of 2014.
The county board last night also approved the increase of the Lee County Enterprize Zone near Rochelle by 92 acres along with the U.S. Marshall's per diem contract. The deal will not exceed $35,000. Revenue for the county could reach around $200,000 a year.
