The flu outbreak in the U.S. is now considered an epidemic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says at least 20 children have died from the flu that is now widespread in 47 states. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is declaring a public health emergency due to the outbreak. The executive order allows pharmacists to give flu shots to patients from six months to 18 years old. The order is effective for the next month.
