In a sad note in the news today, former Rochelle Mayor Bill Cipolla passed away last Friday due to complications from pneumonia. He was 84 years old.
Cipolla, a graduated from RTHS, was Mayor in Rochelle from 1967 to 1983. He was also the owner of Town and Country Car Wash, Laundromat, and Mobile Home Park and was a member of the VFW Post 3878 and Knights of Columbus.
Visitation for Bill Cipola will be this Friday from 4 until 7 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. A funeral mass will take place Saturday morning at 10:30 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rochelle.
