A lack of snow in the Rockford area is leading officials with the state's snow sculpting competition to delay the contest for a week. The competition, which sends the winner to the national snow sculpting event, has been moved from a start date of January 16th to January 23rd. In a statement, Rockford Events and Recreation Projects Manager John Beck said current snow piles were not large enough and there is no measurable snowfall expected within the next week.
