Legalized gay marriage in Illinois may not pass after all. The bill's sponsor Democratic Senator Heather Steans said last night despite its narrow passage through a Senate Committee the bill probably lacks enough support whenever the full Senate takes its vote. Last night, a Senate Executive Committee approved the Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act on a vote of 8-to-5. If passed the bill would officially recognize marriage between same-sex couples. It's still unclear when the full Senate will make its final vote.
