The U.S. Marshalls Service says that 3 properties owned by former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell will sell for more than 3 million dollars.
The Lee County properties are located at 1430 Dutch Road, 1556 Red Brick Road, and around 81 acres of farmland.
Property along U.S. Highway 52 in Dixon owned by Crundwell is also being sold in the near future. Bids are being accepted until January 25th. 1 figure came in a $350,000.
Crundwell pled guilty last year to the federal offense of wire fraud after she took more than 53 million dollars from the City of Dixon since 1990. She will be sentenced next month in Rockford.
Crundwell has also been indicted by a grand jury in Lee County on 60 counts of theft.
Federal officials say that they have recovered around 8 million dollars from online and live auctions involving 400 quarter horses, cars, trucks, and trailers that belonged to Crundwell. Personal items from homes in Dixon and Florida have also been sold.
Net proceeds from the sale of these items will be held in escrow for the present time.
Crundwell used the city money to run a horse business along with paying for living expenses.
