Many state lawmakers in Illinois are now calling for a ban on military style weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines following the shooting this month at the grade school in Connecticut that left 20 grade school students dead along with 6 staff members.
The concealed weapons issue also remains on the table as Illinois is the only state not to have this law.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County State's Attorney Ben Roe talked about both issues.
Roe becomes a Circuit Judge following a ceremony on January 7th. He believes something will happen on the gun issue in Washington in the near future.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and re-broadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday mornings at 7 on 102.3FM.
