Ogle County Sheriff police say that both drivers were using their cell phones prior to a 2-vehicle crash on Thanksgiving day which left 2 people dead
The collision took place in the 1,000 block of West Pines Road, about 1 1/2 miles West of Oregon.
28-year old Leslie Wallace of Oregon and 31-year old Christina Nave of Mt. Morris were both using their cell phones prior to the accident. 1 driver was talking while the other was texting.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff's police say that Wallace was east bound on West Pines Road when her car cross the center line and struck the west bound vehicle driven by Nave. The crash took place a short time after 9:30 in the morning.
