Ogle County officials are stilll looking for a replacement for State's Attorney Ben Roe after he is sworn into office as a Circuit Judge on January 7th.
In a 13-11 vote on Tuesday night, the board voted against the appointment of Polo attorney Thomas Suits.
The area attorney was chosen over 3 other candidates following interviews last week.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County State's Attorney Ben Roe was surprised with the vote this week from the county board.
Roe also recommended Mike Rock from his office for the position.
Under state law, the Ogle County board must appoint a State's Attorney before Roe becomes a judge.
