Village officials in Hillcrest are taking steps to avoid another water boil order which occurred last month. The water pressure had dropped in the village due to 3 fuses which had gone bad. The problem involved an electrical issue for the water system
The village plans to have 3 white lights on top of the pump house. If a fuse needs repairs, a light will go out.
There will also be a yellow light on if the generator is running and a red light on if the pumps stop working.
The village also plans to purchase 4 cameras at a cost of just under $2,500. 1 camera will be on the pump house. If a light goes on, several village officials will receive a text message.
1 camera will also be on the dumpster and recycling area for people who illegally dump items at the village hall. 2 other cameras will be inside the building for security purposes.
The village's cost for repaving a portion of Hemstock Road will be $16,866. The board also approved the water shut-off ordinance for people who do not pay their bill.
