Water boil issue in Hillcrest

Village officials in Hillcrest are taking steps to avoid another water boil order which occurred last month. The water pressure had dropped in the village due to 3 fuses which had gone bad. The problem involved an electrical issue for the water system

The village plans to have 3 white lights on top of the pump house. If a fuse needs repairs, a light will go out.

There will also be a yellow light on if the generator is running and a red light on if the pumps stop working.

The village also plans to purchase 4 cameras at a cost of just under $2,500. 1 camera will be on the pump house. If a light goes on, several village officials will receive a text message.

1 camera will also be on the dumpster and recycling area for people who illegally dump items at the village hall. 2 other cameras will be inside the building for security purposes.

The village's cost for repaving a portion of Hemstock Road will be $16,866. The board also approved the water shut-off ordinance for people who do not pay their bill.

Residents in Hillcrest are reminded they can file their petitions next week along with December 26th for the April 2013 Consolidated Election involving the board of trustee positions.

The Hillcrest Fire Department will also host a food bank event on December 20th for needy families in the area.

Residents in the village are also reminded to remove broken down items from their yard which includes TV's. The property maintenance code will be enforced by village officials which includes fines.

Village officials met in executive session to talk about a pending litigation issue. No action was taken.
