A Sycamore man suffered injuries yesterday afternoon after he crashed his plane in DeKalb county.
The aircraft, a kit-type similiar to a T-51 Mustang, went down in a field south of Route 38 between DeKalb and Cortland.
Reports indicate that 62-year old James Auman had just taken off from the DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport in a small plane when he crashed. Authorities say that the plane had some type of mechanical problems prior to it crashing in the field. The plane came to rest on it's roof.
Auman was transported by Helicopter to a Rockford hospital where he is listed in good condition.
There were no passengers in the plane.
Traffic was delayed for a period of time on Route 38 yesterday afternoon in DeKalb County due to the crash.
