Ogle County is looking for a new State's Attorney.
As 1st reported last month, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed Ben Roe as the new Circuit Judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit. He will be sworn in as a Circuit Judge on January 7th.
Ogle County Board Chairman Kim Gouker, Vice Chairman John Finfrock along with 3 other board members will interview the candidates for the position. All interested applicants need to respond to Gouker by email no later than noon on Wednesday.
The interviews involving the candidates will be done by the 5 county board members on Thursday and posssibly Friday. They will then make a recommendation to the entire county board next Tuesday, December 18th during their monthly meeting in Oregon.
The person appointed as State's Attorney in Ogle County will hold the position for 2 years since Roe was recently re-elected last month to a 4-year term.
There will be a special election for the final 2 years of the term during the General Election on November 4th, 2014.
