For the 3rd time in the past week, Ogle County Sheriff's police have arrested Rockford residents trying to sell heroin in the area.
40-year old Shafterence Blan and 55-year old Jeffrey Bridges have been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, heroin, within 1,000 feet of a daycare facility. The incident took place in the Davis Junction area.
Bridges was also charged with fleeing to elude a police officer and reckless driving. He almost struck police officers at the scene with the vehicle he was driving. Bridges drove the car through a parking lot before striking a ditch embankment at the intersection of Illinois 251 and Route 72.
Police seized 9 bags of heroin during the arrest.
Both men appeared in Ogle County court Friday for arraigments. They were given preliminary hearing dates of December 19th in Oregon. At that time, they will plead guilty or innocent to the charges.
Bridges remains in jail in lieu of a $750,000 bond. Blan is behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
Additional charges are expected involving the incident which took place on Wednesday.
