Ogle County Sheriff's police have made another arrest in connection with heroin being sold in the area.
38-year old Jay Moore, 40-year old Shasta Alonzo, along with 24-year old Tyler Smith, all from Rockford, were arrested Tuesday on the felony offense of delivery of a controlled substance, heroin, within 1,000 feet of a park.
Alonzo was also charged with unlawful possession of crack cocaine while Moore was charged with resisting a police officer.
The drug bust took place near a park in the area of Byron. Police seized 24 bags of heroin with a street value of around $400. An undercover police officer was involved in the arrest. Rochelle police assisted in the investigation.
Ogle County sheriff's police also arrested 2 other Rockford men last week near Byron after they allegedly tried to sell heroin near a church.
Moore, Alonzo, and Smith appeared before a judge in Ogle County court yesterday afternoon on the felony charges. Moore remains in jail in lieu of a $250,000 and will appear in court next month.
Alonzo and Smith both posted bond and will appear in court at a later date.
