Ogle County Sheriff's police have arrested 2 Rockford men after they allegedly tried to sell heroin last week near a church in Byron.
33-year old Andre Hawkins and 50-year old Harvey Smith have both been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance with 1,000 feet of a church.
The sale involved 15 bags of Heroin to an undercover police officer in Byron.
Bond was set at $150,000 for Hawkins and $100,000 for Smith as both men remain in jail in lieu of bond. They are scheduled to return to Ogle County court on Friday for arraignments.
