State lawmakers in Illinois have yet to make a decision if they will place the concealed weapons issue on a future ballot for voters to decide.
They have received numerous signed petitions in favor of this issue. Illinois remains the only state to not have concealed carry of guns by people.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", WRHL news asked Rochelle Police Chief Eric Higby if he was in favor of concealed carry. Higby remains concerned about the regulations set on who can carry a gun.
He also believes that crime numbers may go down in the state if this law was approved.
