Roe appointed as Circuit Judge

Ogle County will have a new State's Attorney in 2013. Ben Roe was recently appointed by the Illinois Supreme court as the Circuit Judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit as he replaces Judge Michael Mallon who is retiring from the bench.

Judge Mallon's last day will be December 4th.

Roe begins his new position as Circuit Judge on January 7th of next year.

Roe has been Ogle County State's Attorney since 2004. He won last week's General Election's race as he ran unopposed.

Judge Mallon was 1st appointed to the bench in 1998. He was elected a Circuit Judge in 2002.

Roe appointment ends on December 1st 2014. There will be a General Election race for the Circuit Judge position in the 15th Judicial Circuit in November of that year.

The Ogle County Board will appoint a person as State's Attorney until the General Election in 2014.
