A special use permit for a new company, an engineering agreement dealing with repairs for a bridge, and a presentation involving the possiblity of Emerald Ash Borers in Rochelle tops the agenda tonight for city officials.
The special use permit is for Behr Iron and Steel on 5th Avenue. The recycling company has made a change in their original proposal in the building operations.
The engineering agreement for School Avenue bridge will not exceed $47,500.
Extending the natural gas and electric utility taxes at 1.5 percent along with upgrades needed for the Lakeview lift station will also be talked about along with hiring a firm for grant services dealing with the new company next to Nippon Sharyo who will handle parts needed for the Japanese railcar facility
Several counties in Northern Illinois have been infested with the Emerald Ash Borer. Scott Schirmer from the Illinois Department of Agriculture will talk about the signs and symptoms involving the trees along with options which includes a removal process.
Tonight's Rochelle City Council meeting is open to the public.
