The final numbers are not in yet, but crime is on the rise in 2012 for Ogle County compared to figures a year ago.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County Sheriff Michael Harn said that numbers are up in several categories. This includes sexual assaults, burglaries, drugs, and thefts.
Harn said that his department plans to continue to work with Rochelle police dealing with the drug trafficking problem along with gangs.
Harn said that the economy is 1 reason for the increase in crime. He also said that many of the criminal have been released from jail.
